WEDNESDAY: LATEST NEWS IN FOOTBALL MAKING THE ROUNDS

Lionel Messi was the hero for Barcelona FC as they faced Eibar in their La Liga tie. The Argentine scored four times with new signing Paulinho and Dennis Suarez getting the other two goals in their 6-1 rout of their opponents in Camp Nou    
                                     

Leicester City  knocked out Liverpool FC out of the Carabao Cup with substitute Shinji Kagawa and Striker Islam Slimani getting the goals for The Foxes late in the game. Meanwhile Liverpool Boss has blamed his defence for their abymal display of letting in cheap and avoidable goals in the game.

Tottenham saw off challenge from Championship side Barnsley to win and progress to the next round in the Carabao Cup. Dele Alli got the lone goals for the london side and was praised by his coach Pochettino to have improved immensely after his display.

Bayern ran out 3-0 winners in their clash against Schalke in the German Bundesliga. Robert Lewandoski opened the scoring for the away side while James Rodriguez and Alex Vidal goals made sure bayern took maximum points from the encounter.

Nigeria defeated Ghana 2-0 to progress to the semi-final of the WAFU Cup with Moses Eneji of Plateau United amongst the goalscorers.

Burnley crashed out of the Carabao cup to Leeds united after losing 5-3 on penalties after the match ended a goal in piece in normal time. Meanwhile Swansea progressed to the next round of the competition with Mawson's goal giving them the edge against their opponent Reading.

THURSDAY; BLAZING HOT FOOTBALL GIST MAKING ROUNDS
